My mother is a painter and I grew up with a natural interest in art. I have always been fascinated by the human figure, drawing and studying the body and emotion from a young age. Growing up, drawing was like a diary to me. I drew my feelings and thoughts. Art became an outlet for every expression in my life. I received my BFA in Illustration from The University of Hartford’s Hartford Art School in 2011, graduating summa cum laude. Following my education, I have been an active member of the art community, showing my work in multiple venues and galleries throughout Connecticut. My recent work focuses on a unique form of portraiture, involving anatomy, intricate patterns, and a keen sense of color. I’m interested in the concept of memento mori. I seek to convey not only the human body physically but the human experience by exploring what makes up a person.
